Volunteering for a political party can be a truly rewarding experience. Not only is it a great way to meet new people with similar interests but by being involved you can be at the centre of making the changes to your area that you know are required.
As a volunteer with Newcastle Conservatives we will never ask you to carry out tasks that you are not comfortable with, we will guide you through exactly how to get the best out of each voluntary activity and you will always be paired up with an experienced member for your first few activities. Your time is a precious commodity and we are extremely grateful to those that are willing to donate their time.
Our volunteering activities comprise the following:
Making Calls - What the party refers to as Connect Calling, also called telephone canvassing. You can call voters from the comfort of your own home to ask if they'll vote for us. We also run regular sessions where anyone can join and get set up to start making calls. You'll be given access to an online script and you input the voters responses from each call.
Delivering Leaflets - We deliver 1000s of leaflets to tell voters what we stand for and to help them to make the right decision. Join one of our teams out delivering and up your step count as well as getting to enjoy some beautiful British weather!
Knocking on Doors - Doorstep canvassing is one of the best ways for us to determine who is going to vote for us and to put across our policies in a far more personal way. This is one of the most rewarding campaign activities when you find most of a street is going to vote for us or that someone who wasn't sure is convinced by your reasoning.
It might seem daunting to go out that first time to talk to someone on their doorstep about politics or wander the streets pushing leaflets through people's doors but we will always make sure you are with others who have some experience. (Most people we speak to are quite pleased to be given an opportunity to discuss the politics of the day).
