As a volunteer with Tyneside Conservatives, you will never be asked to do anything you are uncomfortable with. We provide clear guidance for every activity, and for your first few sessions you will always be paired with an experienced campaigner. Your time is valuable, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to support our work across Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside and South Tyneside.

Ways You Can Get Involved
📞 Making Calls (Connect Calling)
Telephone canvassing — known as Connect Calling — is one of the easiest ways to get involved. You can speak to voters from the comfort of your own home, asking about their views and whether they will support us.
We run regular calling sessions to help you get started. You’ll be given access to an online script, and you simply record voters’ responses as you go. It’s straightforward, flexible, and makes a real difference.
📬 Delivering Leaflets
Every year we deliver thousands of leaflets across Tyneside to share our message and explain what we stand for. Joining one of our delivery teams is a simple but vital way to support the campaign.
It’s also a great excuse to get outdoors, boost your step count, and enjoy some fresh air while helping spread the word.
🚪 Knocking on Doors
Doorstep canvassing is one of the most effective and rewarding campaign activities. Speaking to voters face-to-face allows us to understand local concerns and explain our policies in a personal, meaningful way.
There’s nothing quite like discovering strong support in a neighbourhood — or helping someone who was undecided feel confident about backing us.
If it feels daunting the first time, don’t worry. You’ll always be out with experienced members who will support and guide you. In reality, most people appreciate the opportunity to talk about the issues that matter to them.
